February 10, 1935 - November 3, 2020
Nancy Lou Longpre, 85, of Essexville, our caring, giving, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Nancy was born on February 10, 1935 in Royal Oak, the daughter of the late Albert and Estelle (Rochon) Ball. Nancy graduated from Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak and went on to attend Normal College at Michigan State University which is now Eastern Michigan University. While attending college, Nancy met the love of her life, William Longpre. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 7, 1958. Nancy taught at Shrine of the Little Flower and St. Boniface grade school. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), a member of the Altar Society, and a member of The Eagles. She loved to volunteer her time and was active with mobile meals. Nancy was very active in the Senior Olympics and won a silver metal for Euchre; she absolutely loved playing cards – especially Euchre. Nancy and William loved to travel the United States, taking frequent trips out west, going north to Alaska, and a favorite spot was Glacier National Park. Above all, Nancy loved being with her family, they were the lights of her life. Her bright smile and kind heart will be missed dearly for years to come. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 62 years, William; children, Lynn Longpre of Auburn Hills, Kathy (Jerry) Talaga of Essexville, and Mark Longpre of Essexville; grandchildren, Austin, Ashley, Andrew, and Lauren; sister, Linda (Robert) Nelson, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Nancy was welcomed home to heaven by her infant son, Christopher William Longpre, and siblings, Albert Eugene Ball and Mary Ann Haley. Nancy's Memorial Ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine, between Ridge & Center. Fr.
