Phyllis Anne Jacobs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Phyllis Anne Jacobs, 81, of Essexville, our loving and supportive mother and "Grandma Choo Choo" was born into eternal life on the evening of Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region. Phyllis was born in Bay City on April 15, 1941, the only child of the late John and Genevieve "Barney" (Gornowicz) Bedla. On December 17, 1983 Phyllis was united in marriage to Eugene Bernard Jacobs. After 31 years of marriage, Eugene preceded Phyllis in death on July 24, 2015. In her younger years, Phyllis was very involved with the community, especially with the Bush Elementary School Booster Club and supporting the Boy Scouts as a Den Mother. Always one to stay busy, Phyllis worked many part time jobs, with her longest tenure supporting Essexville-Hampton Public Schools. Traveling was one of Phyllis and Gene's love, with trips to the Upper Peninsula being their favorite. These northern travels led to Phyllis' love for the casino, where she was always willing to try her luck on the slot machines. Knowledgeable of many topics, Phyllis enjoyed birdwatching and could identify most any bird, along with many plant, flower, and tree species. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing scrabble, but most of all, time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Phyllis' love for her family will forever live on. To carry on her legacy, Phyllis leaves her children, Marisa and husband, Todd Liedeke, John and wife, Melissa Krause, Tim Krause and his special friend, Sherrie Gonzales, Jaime Krause, and her special friend, Brennen Robison, Eugene Jr. and wife, Tami Jacobs, and Thomas and wife, Kris Jacobs; grandchildren, Morgan, Mitchell, Erica, Aidan, Jordan, Madelyn, Nathan, and Warren, along with many in-laws and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, Eugene, Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband, James Krause. Phyllis' family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Friday, July 22, 2022, Phyllis will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Phyllis' 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will preside with a reception to follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski's. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish.
