Robert Earl Watters, Sr.

September 26, 1939 - April 4, 2022

Robert Earl Watters, Sr., 82, of Carrollton Twp., our loving, caring, generous, and intelligent father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at his home on Monday, April 4, 2022. Bob was born in Saginaw on September 26, 1939, the son of the late Hugh and Arlyne (Somerville) Watters. He graduated from Saginaw High School and went on to work for General Motors, retiring after 28 years of dedicated service. Bob enjoyed an occasional casino trip, but family was truly most important in Bob’s life. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the lights of his life. To carry on his legacy, Bob leaves his children, Robert (Bonnie) Watters, Jr. and Kristine (Phillip) Berkobien; grandchildren, Rob Watters III, Shannon (Gilbert) Watters, Cortney (Benny) Miller, and Chelsea (Joshua) Batschke; great-grandchildren, Chloe Watters, Parker Watters, Ayden Wise, Oliver Batschke, and Easton Coty; his siblings, Hugh (Betty) Watters and Lori (John) Ruple; his dear friend and card playing buddy, Belle Tafoya; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Scott Watters, and his siblings, Delbert Watters, Lois Miller, and Marlyne Delaney. Bob’s family will be present to receive visitors on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 2:00 PM until Bob’s 4:00 PM Memorial Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot.
