June 16, 1927 - December 26, 2020
Vermilda Albina Wyzkiewicz, 93, of Hampton Twp., affectionately known as “Millie” to many, our loving, caring, hardworking, loyal and gentle wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born into eternal life on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at New Hope Bay. Vermilda was born on June 16, 1927 in Hampton Twp., the daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Pero) Badour. Vermilda attended Hugo School. While she was working on the farm, she happened to meet a young prankster by the name of Edward J. Wyzkiewicz. On June 22, 1946, Vermilda married Edward in St. John’s Church, sharing 51 wonderful years of marriage, six beautiful children, and countless memories. Sadly, Edward passed on August 2, 1997. Vermilda was a dedicated parishoner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), where she and Ed enjoyed being active with the Knights of Columbus. She will forever be remembered for her love of crafts, gardening, cake decorating, sewing, crocheting, bowling, painting, and playing cards with her friends – especially Euchre. She also enjoyed traveling, especially camping and time spent at the family cottage on Wixom Lake, where boating and fishing were among her favorite pastimes. In her later years, she was a faithful snowbird to Texas, where she met many friends, and even learned how to line dance. Always active and on the go, Vermilda even bicycled around Mackinac island at the age of 85. Her kind and loving ways will live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come. Vermilda leaves to cherish her memory, her children, June Wyzkiewicz of Hampton Twp., Bonnie (Chris) Spegel of Hampton Twp., Jim Wyzkiewicz of Hampton Twp. , Julie (Frank Juzswik) Williamson of New Hudson, and Sandra (Michael) Ligney of Essexville; grandchildren, Amy Laisure, Jill (Tony) Michalak, Lisa (Mike) Priebe, Jimmy Wyzkiewicz, Ashley Ousterhout, Alison Williamson, Bradley Williamson, Tonya (Daniel) Short, and Andrew Tacey; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Claudia, Logan, Landon, Ava, Morgan, Madison, and Violet Mae; son-in-law, Jeff Williamson, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Vermilda was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Lynn Wyzkiewicz; siblings, Doris Savage, Ernest Badour, and Elaine McArdle, along with her in-laws, Emma Badour, Ceil Badour, Leo McArdle, Kate Gehoski, Ted Gehoski, Laura Bober, Louis Bober, Helen Nowak, Walt Nowak, Ted Wyzkiewicz, Ceil Wyzkiewicz, Bernard Wyzkiewicz, and Alice Wyzkiewicz. A private family funeral, officiated by Fr. Dale Orlik will be held at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. A public memorial will be held at a later date. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to New Hope Bay for their compassionate care. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
